LUBA CHARLTON PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY FORUM
March 2006
Charlton Management Consulting Managing Director Luba Charlton was one of four speakers to participate in an International Women’s Day lunch, staged at Sydney’s Four Season’s Hotel on March 8, 2006.
With the theme of ‘Celebrating Women Around The World’, 280 guests engaged with the panel in a wide ranging discussion about the experience of being a woman in business, as well as participating in a Q & A with a moderator.
“It was a tremendous thrill to be involved in the event, not only to share my experience as a woman in business but to listen to the perspective of the other panelists and the audience,” says Luba. “This was a conversation about the real issues of women in business, and I’m confident that every person there left with something valuable that they could add to their business or personal lives.”
The International Women’s Day lunch is a charity event to benefit an organisation called Opportunity International. The Australian Businesswomen’s Network organise this inspiring event each year, holding simultaneous lunches in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane that celebrates the achievements and contribution of women to Australian society.
The event this year raised over A$27,000 for Opportunity International who use the funds to make micro-loans to start or grow businesses run by women in developing countries. This amazing organization transforms the lives of women, their families and their communities through the distribution of these seed funds, that average A$70 per loan.
